First off, thanks Ga'Quincy McKinstry mom for starting up a first name prefix that starts with "G." Also, thanks for letting him play football.

Two sport athletes are the best!

The great Gil Reich (also a DB) played  for the 'Hawks back in Clyde Lovellete days and Wilt was a track star and haberdasher.

What makes "Kool Aid" McKinstry so intriguing is he is a football/basketball guy which is rare. Usually basketball coaches forbid football starting in high school. Self allowing Ga'Quincy to play football reportedly could be the deciding factor in choosing KU over schools like Alabama. It's a slick play on Self's part too as he'd get a blue chipper without burning a scholarship which he stands to be short of in the not too distant future. 

For us, the best part is football season in Lawrence might just be a little more interesting.
